The Laboratory of Crystallography of the IMS was set up
in the late 60’s with the acquisition of a Philips XRD instrument. The
first single-crystal diffractometer (Syntex) was acquired in 1979. Ever
since, the infrastructures are constantly upgraded.
In the 30 years of its operation, over 2000 crystal
structures have been solved in the lab.
Apart from purely
crystallographic research, the group has been involved in the areas of
Molecular Magnetism since 1995, with its own synthetic projects starting
in 2000.
Today, the group’s
research interests cover various aspects of Coordination Chemistry, like
chemical reactivity studies of transition-metal complexes and models of
Bioinorganic systems. |
