Single-Molecule Magnets

Single-Molecule Magnets are a type of complexes showing slow magnetic relaxation, in the absence of long-range magnetic interactions. Macroscopically, their behavior is similar to that of classical magnets (albeit at much lower temperatures), but the mechanism of slow magnetic relaxation is different, since the magnetic bistability is an intrinsic property of the molecule and not a result of long-range ordering.
