·  PhD in Physical Chemistry(1983)

·  DSc in Chemical Physics (1992) awarded by the USSR National Attestation Commission, Moscow, for developing the new materials field “SHS Catalysts”, 1991

 

RESEARCH AND INDUSTRIAL INTERESTS

·      30 years experience in Catalysis and Combustion processes

·      SHS materials and processes for environmental protection

·      World-wide first developer of the new process: “Self-Propagating High-Temperature Synthesis(SHS) of Pigments, light- weight Refractories, Catalysts and Carriers”

·      Developed and managed industrial-scale plants for the production of SHS pigments, tiles.

·      Studies of interaction of pigments with glazes, thin layer combustion processes.

·      Development of SHS catalysts for the oxidation of CO, methane, synthesis gas, and soot, for the dehydrodimerisation of methane, pyrolysis of diesel, naphtha (applied industrially) and petrol. Development of hybrid ceramic-ablator TPS and SiC/SiC ceramic composites.

·      Previously was Chief Researcher and Head of SHS Catalysts and Pigments Laboratory, Combustion Problems Institute, Kazakhstan, 1986-1996

 

CONSULTING ACTIVITIES

·        Expert Evaluator for European Commission Proposals in the Programmes Growth and FP6 (Marie Curie, STREP, NEST, SME, NOE) of the European Commission.

·        Consultant to European Commission. Project EVIMP evaluator of projects within EC Programmes BRITE/EURAM, IMT, CRAFT, SMT and M&T. Evaluator of ITTE.

  • Lecturing at Kazakh State University, during 1984-1995
